Finlandia Foundation National's Sauna Week is a heartfelt celebration of the Finnish sauna tradition, a cultural treasure that blends history, wellness, and connection. Rooted in values of harmony, equality, and restoration, this week-long event unites people worldwide to honor the transformative power of sauna as a sanctuary for the body, mind, and spirit. Everyone is invited, regardless of background, to experience the universal gift of rejuvenation and belonging found in the löyly (steam) and warmth of the stones.

FAHS is celebrating Sauna Week in 2025 with a day of programming on Saturday, February 22nd including a presentation by Greg Smiley called "A Sauna Journey" about his own highs and lows traveling around the world seeking löyly. After his presentation, FAHS will hold its very first "How to Sauna" class for members-only who would like to be able to use our sauna in the future.

With events ranging from virtual webinars and educational programs to in-person gatherings hosted by Finlandia Foundation chapters, Sauna Week celebrates sauna as a space for personal and collective renewal. At its core, National Sauna Week embodies the belief that sauna is a metaphor for a healthy society—where differences are left at the door, and all are equal in the shared embrace of warmth and community. Visit the National Sauna Week website for more information and to register for virtual programming.
